Updates:

May 19/2010
- Please see updated schedule which shows the rained out games from May 9th moved to June 17 and 22.

June 17:  6:30 - GSE vs. Arsenal (Riel #2)
8:15 - St. Albert United vs. Decepticons (Riel #2)

June 22:  6:30 - Crossfire vs. SA City (Turf)
8:15 - Chester City vs. Strike Force (Turf)

I understand this essentially means back to back games against the same opponents (June 20 games), but to get the nicer fields this was the timeslot available.

May 20/2010 - Schedule update again, just changing the above June 22 game from Turf fields to Riel #1

May 26 2010

Well, it was certainly an interesting long weekend.  GSE has indicated to the league that they will not be continuing to participate this season due to low numbers.  As such, the schedule has again been revised.  It is updated on the above attached link.

The other result this had, was the removal of any points gained or lost due to GSE matches.  As they never paid a portion of their fees, they were in essence not a part of the league, and thus their games must be considered as exhibition and not affecting the standings of the St. Albert Men's Soccer League.  Standings and Results have been updated to reflect this as well.

Rained out games from July 18 have been moved to August 8, same time and fields (11, 1 and 3 on Riel)

July 26, 2010

July 24th marked the second annual men's all-star game.  The weather was beautiful, and the game kicked off on schedule at 5:00PM.  Team Grey, home team, was coached by St. Albert United's Darren Rosin, and was comprised of players from SA United, SA City and Strike Force FC.  Team white, visiting team, was coached by Chester City's Malcolm Steele, and was comprised of players from Chester City, Decepticons, Crossfire and Arsenal.

The white team edged out a 3-2 win after exciting back and forth action throughout the entire game.  Chester City's Ryan Prodrutti scored 2 for team white with Trent Hillman adding another.  St. Albert United's Cam Allam and Chris Normandeau each tallied for team grey.  Strong goaltending on both sides kept the score close, as each team had more chances that were denied.

Thanks to everyone who represented their teams in this game.

Men's final took place last night at 6:30 on the turf field.  Congratulations to Arsenal in prevailing 2-0 over St. Albert United in a hard fought contest.  Congratulations to all teams on what I hope was a fun 2010 campaign.  Already looking forward to the start of next season.  Enjoy indoor for those who play, and good luck to Chester City and St. Albert United in their provincial contests.
