SASA Development Centre: Licensing

After completion of the 'Community Coach Certification', coaches can continue their development by applying to participate in ASA/CSA's 'B' License Program.

A formal application to undergo Pre-'B' Licensing can be submitted directly to SASA and independently of the ASA.

Pre-'B'
Coaches undergo some training from the ASA and are assessed while running practical sessions using peer coaches as players.

Provincial 'B' License
Once a coach successfully completes the Pre-'B' stage, then he/she can advance to the Provincial 'B' License. This is an extension of the Pre-'B', but is more intense and involves a week long assessment.

For SASA Coaches
To help SASA Coaches wishing to advance in the Licensing program, SASA's Head Coach, will consult and mentor candidates through the Pre-'B' process over a planned period. Coaches can work with their own players in a more 'friendly' environment and undergo mock assessments. This method helps prepare the new coach to become familiar with assessments while getting the necessary feedback for improvements.

SASA's Coaches are also helped financially when embarking on the Licensing program.
