Welcome to the 2010 Outdoor Season and our brand new Popsicle League Sponsor!

We are proud to have a brand new sponsor on board this year for our grass roots U10 programs.  Thank you Popsicle for your help with the ever rising program costs and the great coupons this year!  Coaches will be receiving a package of coupons and info on this great new sponsor soon.   Enjoy!

A huge thank-you  goes out to those parents who have 'stepped up the plate' this season to coach or help coach these teams.   We understand this is a huge time commitment.  Please know it is appreciated.   We hope you will enjoy learning from and working with our professional Staff Coaches for the season as well.

Tournament of Champions Weekend updates:
Tournament of Champions weekend planning is well underway.   Teams are going to have a great time on Saturday enjoying a mini game against guest teams from Sherwood Park and a fun family game or parents v players game to top off their hour of fun.   Teams will also enjoy a free hot dog combo lunch for every player and coach (families can visit the concession too if they wish).
On Sunday - we will have our 2nd semi annual Go Logowear Mini World Cup with players teamed up to represent World Cup Countries and competing to see who is "top dog" for the day.   Gold, Silver, Bronze and participation medals will be awarded at the end of each groups session.
A HUGE thank you has to go out to Brad Delhez, Tasha McLay, and Klayton Deputan for running the show on Sunday.  I know it's going to be a fantastic day of fun!

Meet your Staff Coaches:

Head Coach:
Graham Wood    National B License and over 30 years of Coaching Experience with 18 years at the College level.

Program Coaches:
Paul Kelly, Greg MacIntosh, and Terry Jones   Provincial B Licensed Coaches

Youth Staff Coaches:
Tori Martyn, Takeyuki Hakii (Take), Terri Kutryk, BK Kindzierski and more!

Once again, many of these youth staff coaches have been, or are currently, participating in the National Training Centre Program or AB Provincial Programs, or they have many years experience playing youth club soccer, as well as Men's or Women's Club Soccer.

A special congratulations has to go out to our returning Staff Coach, BK (Brittany) Kindzierski - for successfully completing her first year at UTEP in the U.S. on a soccer scholarship.  Welcome back BK - I know the girls are looking forward to having you on our team of Staff Coaches again. Can't wait to hear the stories!  Congratulations also goes to Tori Martyn - joining BK in the U.S. this fall on a soccer scholarship as well.  We're proud to have had you as SASA Players and now as SASA Coaches!

Rain Outs and Tournament Conflicts - Attention Coach:
U10 Development games needing to be rescheduled should follow rain out procedures, arranging an alternate date that works for both teams, then contacting Margaret at SASA for a field and refs.
Flagstone Field and Riel U10 Fields are most often available, however bookings are on a first come first served basis.  To avoid double bookings and to ensure a referee for your game, it is important all games scheduled or rescheduled go through the SASA office prior to confirming with your teams.
Please refer to Rain Out Procedures under Coaches, Outdoor 2010 Coach Package should you need more details.

SDI Photos
We will do our best to arrange with SDI Photographers to come to one of the training sessions for individual and team photos.  Purchase is optional.   Dates and times will be sent to coaches when they are confirmed.

Note to parents of players:

Please remember to let your son/daughter know this program is a developmental program.  Participation is an indication the player and their family are interested in a higher level of training and more frequent sessions, as they love the game and are showing above average talent.  Although this program is designed to provide the kind of training that will help them achieve their goal of playing on a club soccer team, participation in this program in no way guarantees a spot on an Impact Team when the player reaches U12.   Impact Club Soccer teams are formed through a formal and open tryout process with Independent Evaluators hired to assist Team Coaches in selecting the best players from ALL attending tryouts.    If you have any questions about this, or about the Impact Club Soccer Program, please feel free to contact our office any time.

Wishing you a great season of soccer!
