Coaches, please know how much you are appreciated!
Without people like you volunteering for these positions, we would not be able to operate and offer all the soccer programs we have in place. Even if we increased fees with the desire to hire coaches, there is no way we could find enough paid coaches to cover the 300 + coaching positions needing to be filled each season; so thank you in advance for stepping up to ensure our young athletes have the opportunity to play locally!
Get Involved
Thinking of coaching but don't know much about soccer?
Most of our coaches start out with lots of enthusiasm and little soccer knowledge, so please don't let that hinder you from signing up to coach. We start you off slowly as a U4 Game Day Leader under the direction of our Grassroots Head Coach. St. Albert Impact supports all our coaches with the in-house support of our Grassroots Head Coach as well as online access to the “ Locker Room”. Each volunteer coach in Good Standing will receive a $50 registration refund at the end of the season in appreciation for their service.
As part of SASA’s appreciation, coaches & managers are invited, each season, to a Volunteer Appreciation social.
To register to coach, you need to complete the “Volunteer Positions” in TeamSnap.
Coaching teams are always welcome! Find a neighbour/friend to coach with and have a great season spending time with your child, meeting new friends, and making a difference!
Coaching Requirements:
Criminal Record Check
As SASA requires all coaches to obtain a Criminal Records Check every three years, a volunteer letter of introduction for RCMP/EPS with instructions will be sent via e-mail.
Sexual Harassment Policy
SASA has instituted a Sexual Harassment Policy for all coaches & staff. Acceptance of this policy at the time of volunteering is required.
Community Coaches
Coaches attend a pre-season orientation which provides in-house support from our Manager of Player Development & Player Pathways. These sessions are mandatory for all coaches as they provide excellent ideas for practices and tips for your players, plus you go home with a great Impact coach’s shirt and ball cap. Uniforms and equipment are also distributed at these sessions.

Impact Club coach's appointments are generally for one year, however, there are occasions when a commitment ends early, so please don't hesitate to apply any time during the year. Impact Club coach applications are always welcome. Send completed Impact Coach applications to impactdir@stalbertsoccer.com
