U4 - U11 House League (2015 - 2022)

Register to coach your child's team by completing the “Volunteer Positions” registration form.  It's fun and rewarding, and a great way to get involved!  Support for all our coaches is provided in-house by our Foundation Phase Manager and online access to “The Locker Room” with age-appropriate drills and session plans.  SASA provides the opportunity to complete coach certification courses for the level that you are coaching at our expense.

We do require that all coaches have a valid Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check (CPIC) on file with SASA, accept the SASA Harassment Policy and agree to abide by our Coach Code of Conduct.

Active Start (U4-U6)

The Active Start program gives the youngest players the opportunity to develop basic movement skills like running, jumping, landing, kicking, throwing and catching in a fun setting built around informal play and positive reinforcement.

All of our programs are carefully designed with each week having a difference theme to allow the kids to development the ABC's of movement with and without a soccer ball through station rotations.

The end of each season is celebrated with a Canada Soccer Soccer Fest weekend, filled with games, bouncy castles and face painting.

Fundamental (U7-U9)

Allows children to develop their movement ABC's - Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed - and learn the basics of the game while emphasizing fun, cooperation and maximum time on the ball.

U7, teams are now gender specific. Games are all small sided, playing 4v4+GK

U9, players are introduced to mini referees for their games, and playing 6v6+GK

The end of each season is celebrated with a Canada Soccer Soccer Fest weekend, filled with games, bouncy castles and face painting.

Learning to Train

The goal of this program is to develop the training habits of these athletes as they progress in their soccer development. Developing these skills helps transition these players from our Fundamentals program into our Soccer for Life programs.

This "golden age of learning" when children become less self-centered and we are more able to reflect on their actions and learn from mistakes, provides an optimal window for further development of skills. The focus is on learning by doing, building a larger repertoire of soccer movements and teaching the basics principles of play in a fun and challenging environment.

Our U11 program plays 6v6+Gk.

The end of each season is celebrated with a Canada Soccer Soccer Fest weekend, filled with games, bouncy castles and face painting.

St. Albert Soccer Hardship Fund

St. Albert Soccer has set up a Hardship Fund that is financed by the generosity of its members. Each season, registrants are asked if they would like to contribute to the Hardship Fund to assist families that may require some financial assistance. The Hardship Fund assists 60 - 70 families by subsidizing $6000 - $7000.00/year to keep children playing soccer in our community.

Purpose -To allow every player, age 18 and under, the opportunity to participate in recreational or competitive soccer regardless of household financial conditions. The SASA Hardship Fund was developed to lower the cost of recreational opportunities for children whose families have demonstrated financial needs by applying for either KidSport &/ the Rotary Club.

Please contact Diane Bejcar at the SASA office to discuss the process of applying for funding.
