Skill Centre (2018 - 2015)

The Skill Centre Program is designed for players who are passionate about soccer, enjoy competition, and are looking for a higher level of development than what a traditional house league program provides. This program combines professional, staff-led training with team-based technical sessions to support player growth, team performance, and league game play.

Teams are formed by birth year and compete in EMSAs Tier 1-3 program. Games are played in St. Albert, Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Additional registration in EMSA's portal is required.

All of our competitive teams are created by our Fall Player Placements and we have open training sessions in the Spring.

Player Placements for the 2026 season will run from:

March 2 - 13

Registration opens February 2nd

Please Note:
The open sessions at St. Albert Impact are "ongoing" and we reserve the right to "place" players up/down/across at any time, based on feedback/observation/performance.  This is to facilitate teams of both like-minded and like-skilled whilst recognizing the fluidity of player maturation and development.

The Player Placement Process Explained

Skill Centre

Players participate in two complementary weekly components:

  • a centralized Skill Centre training session focused on individual development. Players work in an academy environment (station rotation).
  • Players have a Ball Mastery that works on individual skills.

Both of these sessions are run by technical coaches. Lessons plans are created by the Technical Director.

Teams will have at least one team session per week, to work on team.

Skill Centre teams play in EMSA. Players are grouped into divisions, A, B or C. Rosters are compiled with the intention of open movement and players are not locked into a specific team.

House league program is a St. Albert Soccer (SASA) run program where teams are built based on neighborhoods in St. Albert. All games are played within the City of St. Albert

Goalkeeper Training

Our dedicated goalkeeper coaches who are committed to helping athletes grow and succeed. With position-specific training, goalkeepers build confidence and develop strong technical skills.

Schedule will be posted here.

Tournaments

We encourage all our teams to partiscipate in various tournaments.

All teams requesting to enter a tournament must have club approval, prior to enterting.

If your team is traveling out of province/country, additional approval and fees are required.

St. Albert Soccer Hardship Fund

St. Albert Soccer has set up a Hardship Fund that is financed by the generosity of its members. Each season, registrants are asked if they would like to contribute to the Hardship Fund to assist families that may require some financial assistance. The Hardship Fund assists 60 - 70 families by subsidizing $6000 - $7000.00/year to keep children playing soccer in our community.

Purpose -To allow every player, age 18 and under, the opportunity to participate in recreational or competitive soccer regardless of household financial conditions. The SASA Hardship Fund was developed to lower the cost of recreational opportunities for children whose families have demonstrated financial needs by applying for either KidSport &/ the Rotary Club.

Please contact Diane Bejcar at the SASA office to discuss the process of applying for funding.
