At St. Albert Soccer we offer a variety of programs. Starting with our Timbits U4 (2022) going all the way to our U19 (2007) program.
We aim to find an environment for everyone.
We aspire to provide an age-appropriate soccer curriculum focused on technical training and player development, while emphasizing the values of sportsmanship, discipline, focus and commitment.
As per the Alberta Soccer Association, our programs as organized by birth year.
After kids age out of our youth program we have a variety of Adult programs to continue to foster the love of the game.

U4 (2022) - U11 (2015)
Program Overview
Our House League Soccer Program is designed for players age U4 to U11 who want to enjoy soccer in a fun, positive, and local environment.
All games are played within St. Albert, making this program convenient for families and ideal for young players who are new to the sport or looking to continue developing their skills close to home.
Program Focus
The Community Soccer Program focuses on player development, fun, and participation, rather than competition or results. Key areas of emphasis include:

- Fundamental Skill Development
Players learn basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control through engaging activities and small-sided games. - Age-Appropriate Learning
Training sessions and game formats are tailored to each age group to ensure players are challenged while still having fun. - Love of the Game
The program prioritizes enjoyment, confidence, and creativity, helping players build a lifelong appreciation for soccer. - Teamwork and Sportsmanship
Players learn how to work together, respect teammates and opponents, and demonstrate positive behavior on and off the field. - Local Community Experience
House League teams will be formed from paid registrations once registrations are completed.
To the extent possible, teams will be formed:
- Based on the neighbourhoods in St. Albert or by combining communities as numbers dictate
- Out of District players will be added to complete rosters and balance birth years
- The location of players will be taken into consideration based on declared Residence Location and/or Postal Code
- Teammate Requests in which both houses submit a request, will be honoured as much as possible.

U8 (2018) - U11 (2015)
Program Overview
The Skill Centre Program is designed for players who are passionate about soccer, enjoy competition, and are looking for a higher level of development than what a traditional house league program provides. This program combines professional, staff-led training with team-based technical sessions to support player growth, team performance, and league game play.
Players participate in two complementary weekly components: a centralized Skill Centre training session focused on individual development, and a Ball Mastery Team Technical session that reinforces skills within a team environment.

Athletes who have progressed beyond introductory or recreational soccer and are looking for enhanced technical development and more focused training. - Players Committed to Learning and Growth
Children who are ready for increased structure, intensity, and accountability while still enjoying the game. - Families Looking for Development-Focused Programming
Families seeking a program that prioritizes long-term player development while supporting team play and league competition. Teams are formed based off of Player Placements (fall) and Open Training (spring).

Program Overview
Our Citywide Soccer Program is designed for players age U13 to U19 who want to enjoy soccer in a fun, positive, and environment. Games are played within St. Albert, Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
Teams are made by birth year, and will play in the EMSA Citywide Program.

The Citywide program focuses on player development, fun, and participation, rather than competition or results. Key areas of emphasis include:

Program Overview
Our Competitive Soccer Program is designed for players aged U13 to U17 who are motivated to develop their skills and compete at a higher level.
Program Focus
The program provides a challenging and supportive environment that emphasizes player development, teamwork, and game performance.

Sports Science
Teams in Tier 1 and 2 have three, six week blocks focused on sport specific strength and conditioning. These sessions are done at our Player Development Centre. - Teamwork and Sportsmanship
Players learn how to work together, respect teammates and opponents, and demonstrate positive behavior on and off the field.
- Time Commitment Expectations
Players can expect a higher time commitment than Citywide programs, including multiple training sessions per week and regular league games. Additional commitments may include tournaments, exhibitions, and travel within the Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Program Offers
Birth Years - 2012 - 2009
Program Overview
This program is designed to meet the needs of players with the desire to train and perform at the highest youth level possible. The Player Performance Pathway that these athletes enter offers many aspects that will provide elements for them to meet their needs in achieving participation at the highest level. Framework for the competition element of this program is suggested to include scouting events monitored by Canada Soccer as well as direct opportunities to be viewed by professional clubs and accredited post-secondary institutions.
Program Focus
- Year long program
Player placements occur in the fall following Tier 1 Provincials. The goal is to maintain consistent team rosters through to the spring open transfer window. -
Player Centred
A focus on developing skilled, confident players through purposeful training and meaningful competition. -
Periodized Strength and Conditioning
Players complete bi-annual fitness testing to help identify their individual athletic needs. Based on these results, a customized fitness program is developed and aligned with the competition schedule. -
Licenced Coaches
All PDP Head Coaches have a minimum of a National B License (or enrolled). Many of our coaches have coach/coached in a post-secondary institution.

IMPACE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
Additional programs are offered all year around for field players and goalkeepers and are acceptable for all levels. These programs are a great introduction to soccer and also provide extra skill building and tactical understanding. Players have access to receive extra training that focuses on individual technical development and small-sided games (no full-sided team games are played).
All programs are led by Impact Staff Coaches, with the exception of Mental Performance Training.
In this program, we are looking to develop a player's mindset for attacking and defending through the effective use of small sided gamed of up to 5 vs 5.
Players will also be challenged with defending 2v1's and 3v2's as well as face challenges of attacking 1v2's and 2v3's
Building a complete player who is confident when they have the ball at their feet and are under pressure from an opponent in 1v1 settings.
The focus is on emphasizing the individual development of each player by advancing their skills through smaller group settings of 1v1 and 2v2 games.
In this program, we are looking to develop a player's mindset for attacking and defending through the effective use of small sided gamed of up to 5 vs 5.

Teams will have the option of purchasing Tech Training hours and will be assigned a Nationally Licensed Coaches to work with that team on In-Game topics specific to the team's needs.
Team coaches will also have direct access to their assigned Tech trainer to ensure there is cohesion between the sessions.

St. Albert Soccer is pleased to continue to offer a full in-house sports science program. Impact athletes have access to a team of in-house sport specific strength and conditioning coaches while our APDL teams have access to a team of certified athletic therapists at all matches.
